This book was so good! If you want a more feel good version of Wild this is the book for you!!!

Helen was a relatable character whose imperfections made her so lovable. I adored her journey of self discovery and healing.

I cannot praise this book enough and want more people to discover it!!!

Please imagine this book from anyone else on the wilderness trip’s perspective: you are so excited to go on this fun adventure trip! You meet your adventure pals but one of them is a woman who is unnecessarily hostile from day 1, is mean and dismissive to everyone, and generally makes a mess of everything.

Contemporary romance fans, have you read Katherine Center’s books yet? If not, you’re missing out!

What an uplifting and gorgeous read! I just love the stories that Katherine Center tells. She writes about strong and capable women who challenge themselves and though her books are love stories, the protagonist’s growth and identity are always at the core of the novel.

The cast of characters was so much fun & gosh, I’d love to see this on screen! The banter was brilliant & I loved living the adventure of the hike through this book.

As for the love interest, well while this book follows the ‘brother’s best friend’ trope, it also adds in ‘age difference’ & ‘second chance at love’. I just love an unrequited crush story and Jake will steal your heart. When his story is revealed, it will break your heart just a little.

Happiness for Beginners is filled with heart & soul. It’s a novel to turn to when you need a pick-me-up. It will take you away to an interesting landscape, a challenging & fascinating wilderness and into the lives of characters you’ll wish you knew in real life.

Determined to make my way through the rest of Katherine Center’s backlist this year!
