What I Liked: This is a sweet, gentle story with a lovely atmosphere to it. It felt quite cosy in its own way, whilst still being very sexy, and most of it was a pleasure to read.
I really liked the main character, Nic. Her determination and drive was really admirable and she was a good foundation for this kind of story. I also liked that she was the flawed one: a lot of romance books have the insecurities come from the hero, but this was, amongst other things, an exploration of her motivations and drive towards her career and I enjoyed that side of it.
Ben was a good hero, he was very sweet and I loved how much he liked her. His backstory was handled well, too, and I did feel that the character grew as time went on as he began to question his wishes for the future based on his interactions with her.
I thought their relationship was nice. Their friendship worked really well as a foundation to build their romance on and they had good chemistry. The sex scenes were hot and well-written and I loved a lot of the casual affection between the two. The fake relationship plotline worked well for me, it’s not a favourite trope of mine but I really enjoyed it here.
What I Didn’t: I found the beginning a bit slow - it took what felt like a while for them to appear on-page together and for them to actually begin the fake relationship aspect.
My only other complaints were that I found some of the dialogue a little stilted and some of the descriptions weren’t my taste - there were a couple of innuendos and descriptions used in the sex scenes in particular that felt a bit childish, to me, which jarred because the majority of the writing and behaviour in this book felt quite mature.
Overall: My gripes with it are quite small, as overall it’s a lovely book with a good, solid romance at its heart. The story it tells is good and interesting, and I did find it hard to put down once I’d got into the swing of the story.
Would I Recommend It?: Yes, if you’re looking for a friends-to-lovers, fake relationship contemporary romance.
Would I Read Something By The Author Again?: Yes.
Content Warnings:
SpoilerRacism; both main characters have issues stemming from absent parental figures, to varying degrees.

Everyone loves a good opposites attract romance. In this breezy summer read, Nicole is an against-all-odds orthopaedic surgeon who’s just one key fellowship away from achieving her dream job; Ben’s the privilege offspring of a medical dynasty determined to run away from his legacy (okay, he’s a financial planner, not a rodeo rider, but still.) She’s got a no relationship rule; he’s got a no doctors rule. Result? These two have friend zoned each other hard for years while also living together (she’s his tenant). Obviously, we’re going to jump right in at the point where everything changes. With her fellowship in jeopardy, Nic agrees to be his girlfriend for a beach trip. We all know where this is going. Set in the relaxed linen playground of Cape Cod, Like Lovers Do is a perfect summer chill read. With Livesay’s writing, the character’s internal and external conflicts really come to life while never getting weighed down with angst. It’s also hot in the way only two people who’ve been crushing on each other forever can be. All you need to know is the hammock plays a pivotal role. The second in the series based around four friends' annual vacation, this one can easily be read alone.

kind of fun but I had to force myself to finish it. I get that the ex-fiance girl was supposed to be the villain but she was fully a 30 year old who was written as though she were a 12 year old brat who just had her favorite lipgloss stolen? Like why did all those grown ass people continue to hang out with her??? Also could have done more with the secret relationship element.

Enjoyed this sweet romance novel - always enjoy a good "friends-to-lovers" trope (though I'm more of an enemies-to-lovers girl myself), and this was one of my recommendations from my Book Riot TBR recommendations! Nic & Ben are just two best friends having a great time when an accidental risque text message slips through :) The rest is a good ol romp of a time, running the gamut from neglectful parents to rude exes to a vacation on Martha's Vineyard.

Loved getting a taste of something different than what I would normally choose! Pleasantly surprised and very much enjoyed myself.

Dr. Nicole Allen is a top resident at John Hopkins where she lives with Benjamin Reed Van Mont in his basement apartment. After three years their time together is coming to an end. After days of Ben cooking for Nicole while they watch HGTV- Ben is Nicole's best friend outside of the girls group from college. After a mess at work she comes home to vent to Ben but Ben's friend is there who sets the idea to have Ben bring Nicole to his friend's group.

Again, another wonderful audiobook/book from Tracey- I can't wait for all these girls to get their HEA. It's another saucy steamy after super slow burn romance.

This is a very well done friends-to-lovers story, which isn't usually my favorite trope. The characters are well developed and I really loved seeing a heroine that was a doctor and it was believable. My only nitpick is that I thought the ex-fiance character wasn't original, but that is a very small complaint and didn't prevent me from enjoying this. This is my first book by the author and I plan to read the first book in the series and check out her other books.

Really loved this book. Great chemistry between the two main characters. The side characters, while somewhat one dimensional, are all fun and lovable (maybe not Tinsley). Loved that this was a romance book that didn't idolize born-again-virgin or some other trope like that for the MC. She is a strong woman of color surgeon who knows what she wants. Really makes me want to go and read the first book from this series. (This one can be read as a stand alone)
