Interesting listen. This was well-written and narrated well. I enjoyed hearing more about her background. She also covered topics that are relevant today.

When reading a politics book written by a politician aspiring for higher office you have to take what they say with a grain of salt. That being said, I would be comfortable with Kamala Harris as my Vice President and if the need arose as President. Her goals and priorities are worthy of our attention, I don’t get the feeling that she would barge ahead implementing her agenda regardless consequences. Rather, I see her as someone who will push for what she believes is right and when those inevitable stumbling blocks that impede admirable policies show up, she will analyze and find a better way. Can’t ask for much more than that.

She’s still a narc but god if Kamala hasn’t had an interesting life. It’s so interesting to see how people who go into politics with bright and progressive ideals become entirely compromised and morally bankrupt in the process, this is the second or third political memoir I’ve read where the writing on the page - from before they held the highest office - does not match the reality of their politics today.

Excellent book. I am excited to have her represent us as our next Vice President.

Did not finish. Got halfway through and saw nothing was changing so I gave it up. I guess I was expecting something much different. This definitely feels like she’s at a job interview sharing her accomplishments. Felt very curated and didn’t really get very deep on anything about HER. I still love Kamala because she is a major bad ass, but I’m looking forward to the book where she can be more vulnerable and real.

My low score isn't really a reflection of the content of the book but rather my expectations of the type of book I was reading. This book was a long campaign speech rather than a biography. It was good for what it was, but that was not what I wanted. At least now I know not to read biographies by people who are running for office.

Every page is inspiring and motivating. Our future Madam Vice President has led an exemplary life in public service: Her track record, her achievements, her successes, and even her failures make her an ideal candidate and cements her status as one of my favorite role models. This book left me feeling proud of everything she has achieved and hopeful for what lies ahead for this country. I am a proud Biden/Harris supporter, and, now, I have even more anecdotes and facts to back up my support.

"Every generation has to recommit to the work, to the effort, and to the true meaning of the word 'patriot'. A patriot is not someone who condones the conduct of our country, whatever it does. It is someone who fights every day for the ideals of our country, whatever it takes."

I listened to this book so that I could learn more about Joe Biden's running mate and our possible first woman vice president. The first half of this book feels more like a memoir, and the second half delves more into issues and politics as Kamala herself became more involved through her work as a US Senator.

I'm not sure my Republican friends ought to read this one, because unless the reader is in agreement with Kamala and Democrats on things like climate change or the Affordable Care Act or the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, this book will probably not feel particularly enlightening, just frustrating. But as my own personal beliefs have shifted left in the last few years, I thought this section of the book was both interesting and empowering. I appreciated learning more about her work as a prosecuting attorney, which I had previously seen to be at odds with her work in social justice. I do think she is a strong woman, fully capable of leading our country as vice president.
