I have been and will always be a lover of BVB and Andy. I still remember the day I discovered BVB in alt press magazine when I was a teenager. This band was my life and such a significant part of my identity. As I got older, my connection to them faded a bit. My music taste expanded and I suppose my angst was beginning to let up (or perhaps just refined itself.)

I think this context is important to consider as I process my thoughts on this book…

Overall, this book is fine. I think I could have muscled through the print copy, but the audiobook was certainly helpful in getting through it faster. Plus Andy has a delightful voice.

What I appreciated most about this book was the reflection that was done. While it at times felt a bit self congratulatory, I have followed Andy long enough (and watched enough of his interviews) to feel confident in saying that his reflection is authentic and his delivery is on par with who he is.

My biggest problem with this book is just how much the timeline jumps around. I got the sense that this was an intentional choice that was made, however, I don’t think the jumpy nature of this book worked. It was hard to follow and very repetitive.

I think this book earned its 2 stars, and perhaps I could be persuaded to give it 2.5 stars. I wish it was organized better as I think it would have told much more powerful story.

That said, if this book would have come out when I was a teenager, I don’t think I would have been able to do anything else but obsess. Andy gave us all what we dreamed of having 10ish years ago and for that I am appreciative.

I love Andy and his band. I read this book about 5 times? I made it a little tradition to myself to read this book every year since It came out. It's a great insight in andys journey, him only telling and explaining what he wants you to know. I'm glad there are these boundaries set in the book. There's also some acknowledgement and apologies for past events which I am glad he takes responsibility for. The pictures in the book are very fun to look at. I always love reading this. For any fan I'd recommend it.

I love Andy and would happily listen to him talk for days on end, so naturally listening to him narrate his own book was the best way to read this. He's such an insightful, intelligent and well-spoken person. A lot of what is spoken about I knew simply through interviews and The Andy Show but a lot of it was definitely new to me. I listened to this all in one day while doing other things and enjoyed it so much.

I just recently started listening to this group. I've seen his interviews and was just curious. He's so well spoken and I thoroughly enjoyed this. Even at almost 50yo LOL. It really was a good read.

A thought-provoking tale of a less-than-perfect person striving for greatness and refusing to settle for less. Andy Biersack is inspiring in his refusal to give up any dream.

Well written and an entertaining read, this book is a good choice both for long-time fans of his music as well as those who have never heard of him.

I generally don't read biographies or memoirs because they have a tendency to be a bit boring for me to read but I wasn't bored by this one. Andy has a wonderful way of telling the stories in this book and that's probably what helped me. It's also a nicely paced book and it's relatively short. It's the book I needed to get me out of my reading slump.
