Another book recommended to me so thought I would give it a go and was pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyed the book and looking forward to reading others in both series.
Havent been to Paris so reading all about it in books is the closest will get at this stage. Enjoyed all the characters.

" The Little Bookshop on the Seine” by Rebecca Raisin. I really enjoyed stepping away from my normal reading and taking a chance on a romance/woman’s fiction, it was so refreshing and heartfelt
I’m going to start off by saying I’m not a huge romance fan but I absolutely loved this book! I could see my book friends in it and the way she described things was so up our introverted book nerd alley that I found myself engrossed in story. Who wouldn’t want an escape to Paris for few months, but what we wish for is not always what we dreamed it would be.
I found the story to be more about finding your way in the world, friendship and yes love. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves books and wants a feel good read.

Sarah has the opportunity of a lifetime. She trades places with a friend in Paris to run her bookstore. When Sarah arrives she finds the staff comes and goes as they please, customer service is nonexistent, and someone is stealing from the store.
Sarah really comes into her own in this book. In the beginning she is mild and does not stand up for herself. She finds her strength throughout the book, gaining control not only of the bookstore but of her life. My only disappointment was how her relationship with her boyfriend ended up. I wish it had a different outcome.

Last year, I read Rebecca’ Raisin’s newest book, and my first book by her, The Little Venice Bookshop, and I enjoyed it. I was curious about her backlist books but unfortunately, The Little Bookshop on the Seine was a miss for me.
I thought the premise was fun – two women switch bookshops in the US and Paris and run them for each other for a few months – but I just didn’t get what I wanted from that story line. Sarah takes over her friend’s Paris bookshop and constantly talks about how busy it is and how busy she is there, but she also is so stressed out because sales seem to be falling and it’s up to her to save it. I wasn’t able to reconcile these two themes.
Additionally, I fully expected her to drop her boyfriend, Ridge, when he was being so uncommunicative and away for months at a time, and there was a woman answering his cell phone at random hours. I don’t want to give spoilers but let’s just say I was disappointed and confused by the ending.
I ended up skimming most of the book. I just wasn’t motivated to keep reading. While this one wasn’t for me, I do look forward to reading more of Rebecca Raisin’s books in the future.

Too much of a romance for me... I love Paris and I love bookshops but I found my mind wandering while I read it. A student recommended this to me and I can see the appeal for a young teenager but I want a little more depth to my books.
