This book is incredible. It's a really cool snapshot in time of the lesbian community in Israel. The interviews were all conducted from 1988-1989, and it is so interesting to look at how things have changed since then.
Most of them were involved in the peace movement in Israel, and it was really cool to read about their activities. Many of them were also instrumental in building the feminist movement in Israel, and I learned a lot about how that movement developed. Several of the women were friends and lovers (or former lovers), and they referenced each other in their interviews. Since so many of them were involved in the same activist circles, certain organizations popped up in multiple interviews. All this overlap really fleshed out the community. I felt like I was hearing multiple perspectives on the same stories, and that was really cool.
