This book is not a romance but it does have a second chance romance element. However it is very slow, in all facets of the story.
The interweaving storylines of the book are interesting, but I feel that it distracts from some deeper character development in the "main" line. I also had no interest in Rosa's story, I'm sorry to say. The parts about her husband and wanting to sneak back to his tree were emotionally sweet but I could not have cared less about her quote unquote romance.
Honestly, Layla's narrative was the most interesting and fun in my opinion. You knew she and the taxi driver would get together but her unlucky in love plot was kind of a necessary jolt anytime it was her chapter. I think she could have had a book all to her own and it would have been successful.
The two leads were...fine. They lacked some depth which would have made the more relatable but mostly I just wanted to know why they liked each other. Yes we saw their "magical snowy night" that set everything off, but...I don't really understand what made them a match.
Overall, I would read this again, I enjoyed the prose, but I don't think it's one I'll add to my shelf.

I loved this book :) I really enjoy Jill Mansell and tend to fly through her books really quickly and her 2021 release wasn't an exception to this

As with all of her books, And Now You're Back was really sweet and lovely. It does cover some serious topics (such as cancer) but it handles them really well and doesn't feel too heavy, still managing to be a light-hearted read

The characters in the book were so likeable, there wasn't one I didn't like (except Ingrid, but the point is she's not nice). I loved all the relationships (romance, friendship, family) between characters, my favourites being the storylines about Layla + Will and Rosa + Benny.

This is a book set in a cute little village, where everyone knows each other and their lives are all intertwined. Jill does books liked these so well, the storylines all work well and the characters lives all weave together perfectly

I also enjoy that this book was written from multiple different points of view, which was good as it helped me to understand the characters more and see how they felt.

And Now You're Back was exactly what I needed at the minute, the world may be chaos right now but this book bought me some calm and good vibes. Totally recommend :)
