Excellent and weird—vampires, food (and longing for food), art, an interior monologue that was super interesting to follow along with. Not for everyone, but one of those books that’s perfect for someone

I really enjoyed reading about Lydia’s yearning for humanity and life, especially through food and culture. I felt the book dragged a bit in the middle but I enjoyed the ending. I wish I could have learned more about Lydia’s mother’s origins and how vampires “work” in this world but understand the mystery is part of Lydia’s feelings of being lost and anchorless.
