Very wild story, confusing yet evocative.

Didn't enjoy it till the very end when the plot finally started making sense. You might enjoy this more if you are faster in picking up the hints on where the book is heading. I read up a bit on the book after finishing and it does seem to be a pioneering feminist work of its time, throwing light on the ridiculous dismissive and thus destructive attitude of society to women's mental health.
A quick read that was in the end, worth it.

A quick read but I’m glad that I finally read it. The fact that she mentioned her baby but you never read about her spending time with him was heartbreaking. Honestly though, sometimes the wallpaper sounded like mold (Archive 81-esque) - can’t imagine that being healthy for someone on the mend to be around?? Not that being contained to a single room with nothing to do but stare at wallpaper sounds any better, I suppose.
