This book was really a mixed bag for me. I don't love fae stories, and perhaps I didn't read the descriptive well enough, but I didn't expect just how fae-centric the story would be. Additionally, this is pitched as a fantasy romance, and while there is a romance sub-plot, it doesn't drive the story.

Ultimately, this portal fantasy does some interesting things with the magic, and it was fun enough to keep me reading, but is too dark for cozy fans, too low stakes for high fantasy fans, and not romance-y enough for romantasy fans, so I'm not sure who this is a good fit for.

Captivating story I continually wanted to know what would happen next.
absolutely hated the last chapter. No resolution of the entire book. Threads dropped and never picked up.

I am actually speechless. NOTHING happens in this book. The characters are terrible and the plot is nonexistent.
