This was a fun, light, sweet novella. It felt very real and genuine.

Hayden and Everett have been friends for years. Although Hayden is attractive and has more than just friend feelings to Everett, he doesn’t dream of the idea of having a relationship with him. As far as Hayden knows Everett is straight. But it turns out Everett has deep feelings for him.

Everett decides to finally make his move. Add in the romance of a wedding and a weekend together with one bed; magic happens. Sure it’s a bit shocking and there’s some tension but that’s what made it seem so honest. It’s beautiful.

I love the supporting characters as well. “Did you just trope me?” I’m still giggling.

Everett and Hayden have been roommates for what seems like forever. He has accepted that Hayden likes men, and it doesn't matter to him. That's why it hits him by complete surprise that maybe the reason why Everett can't make it work with the women he's been in relationships with could possibly be his heart is telling him that his roommate might be his other half.

Hayden has pined for Everett, but he knows that he doesn't have a chance.  So he can't make heads or tails of the signals that he's getting during their friends wedding.   Why would Everett suddenly be trying to make a move if hes adamantthat he's straight? Or could this be his lucky night?

While I generally don't read MM romance, I had been looking forward to these two. The chemistry and romance between them is so hot and sweet at the same time.  Hayden is such a sweetheart, and these two show that sometimes your 'person' could be right under the same roof.

This book was a lot of firsts for me.

It's my first book I've read by Alexandra Hale. It's also my first MM book. First thing first, I am in need of more of Alexandra's books because WOW. Her writing is amazing. For me, I know it's a good book when the side characters are just as great as the main characters. I will now be adding every book from the Clementine Creek series to my TBR so that I get a closer look at the rest of the stories!

It was a little hard for me to figure out whether Everett or Hayden were talking at first but that's a ME issue, not an Alexandra issue! Once I got into my own groove the rest of the story went smoothly!

Hayden is in love with his best friend. His straight best friend. So he doesn't allow his feelings to come to the surface because he knows that nothing will ever come of them and he doesn't want to hurt himself or his best friend.

Everett is keeping a little secret of his own. He's gay and in love with Hayden.

Everett decides it's time to let Hayden in on his secret and the story that unfolds between the two of them.. is beautiful. You could tell, even in the shorter length of this novella, the true feelings that they held for each other. It went so much deeper than either of them thought possible.

I couldn't help but root for both of them - in their own specific ways. I wanted Hayden to have his happily ever after. I wanted Everett to be comfortable in his own skin and make the choice that was best for him.

I loved the small town aspect, especially in the text conversations. I just love small towns and how they come together for everyone in their community.
