Read the 2010 translation put out by Corsair (an imprint of Constable & Robinson). Don't see a single translator, rather an editorial team consisting of four people, which is what it is.

The plot is dark, and there are several people who I know to whom I would not recommend this book. At times it verges nearly on too much, but if you have a strong enough constitution to deal with some reasonably graphic descriptions of violent crime, then you're in for a great time.

Memorable Quotes
"He is surrounded by endless faces, people who do not question; people who passively accept their lives and never admit to the boredom and pain of the journey."

"Soon I’ll be a hunted man and you’ll be one of the bloodhounds sniffing in the dark."

"Now is the time to find out what’s behind the face."

"Salty tears of regret intermingle with the millions of drops of indifferent water around her."

"A cold, pitiless hand starts exploring every part of her, inside and out, trying to extinguish any tiny flame of life, until it reaches her young woman’s heart and stops it forever."

"A cage was still a cage, even if it was made of gold, and every person created his own destiny. Everyone built his own life or destroyed it, according to the rules he alone invented. Or rules he refused to make. There was no escape."
