This volume was incredible!

We follow Hinami after the violent and despicable killing of her mother by the evil b Kureo Mado who is temporarily staying at Anteiku. Unbeknownst to her, Touka takes it upon herself to dispatch the Doves (what the ghouls refer to the investigators as) beneath her rabbit disguise.

Elsewhere, Kaneki finally dons the mask Uta made for him for the first time and goes up against rank 1 investigator, Amon, and we start to see a different side to Kaneki - more vicious and in tune with his inner ghoul. I suspect that over the course of the series he will have to battle more with his inner ghoul as he gradually becomes more sadistic. Perhaps.

But I must say I was VERY surprised Ishida decided to kill Mado off at the end of this volume. I mean I'm glad that he died - he was the absolute WORST but I thought the mangaka would have sacrificed him later on in the 14 volume series, although I feel that Kaneki & Co. haven't really faced the worst of it yet...

“This world is wrong.”

This is the best vol so far. This manga just gets better and better. But I’m really disappointed with the fighting scenes, some times I had now idea what was even happening or who hit who.
