This book gives an interesting glimpse into the history of female healthcare but is severely lacking in intersectionality diversity, mostly of the talking points are from a posh white perspective.

As an unwell woman still being tossed around from one expert to another with no definitive diagnosis other than "severe depression, sever anxiety, maybe fibromyalgia", I found myself in tears towards the end of this book. Somehow, knowing I'm not alone just makes it worse. This shouldn't be the norm, but it still is. Thoroughly researched, easy to read and understand. Beautiful work.

This book is mostly sad and dark but also contains some optimistic content and speaks of those (of any gender) having advanced the state of things. Avoid if you don't want a depressing read.

A really essential book - relatable, infuriating and hopeful. Lots of case studies and anecdotes make it quite readable but some chapters have a lot of information on different topics in quick succession which make it a bit difficult to digest at times. Overall thoroughly recommend!
