Celebrate the CHAMPION
But never underestimate the REBEL"
Eden and Daniel Wing now lives in Ross City, Antarctica. Eden is a top student at the university and Daniel works for AIS (Antarctica Intelligence Service). Earlier the brothers lived in the Republic of America and Daniel was known as Day, the street boy who led a revolution that saved the country. Eden has only been known as Daniel's little brother and he's sick of it. While trying to accomplish something of his own he's drawn into criminal circles, and before he knows it he's involved in something even his brother will have trouble getting him out of.
It's been 10 years since the events of the original trilogy and it's been a pleasure visiting this dystopian world again. Maybe not the world itself so much (which isn't as utopian as it thinks), but the characters. The way the trilogy ended it was obvious that there could be another book; Day and June never got their happy ending! In this fourth book the main focus is however on Daniel and Eden. This way we get to know Eden as well. I do kind of miss June's POV though, I wish she could have had at least a couple of chapters too. Now we only get her perspective through the eyes of Daniel and Eden.
It's almost painful to read about how the brothers have a hard time communicating and don't seem to understand each other. Daniel's priority is to keep Eden safe and it makes him a bit overprotective. I can understand that Eden finds it overwhelming and wants to prove that he can take care of himself, but as a reader I just think they should stop fighting and TALK instead. Well, it gets resolved eventually, as does everything else, and I guess the series is over for good this time. Read it if you haven't already!
