3.5* and probably same for series overall.
However, I did feel there were missing bits and times where later it became clear Noah had gone off investigating but I wanted to know now he was doing it.
I still felt Noah was a bit naive but also lucky in Demitri.
Not sure if I was him I would want to stay in Cane’s Inlet after everything had gone down as some people definitely had been ambivalent with the truth whilst purporting to help him.
A good build up to the denouement with me having two firm favourites, one of whom won the race!
But again with this character I didn’t feel I’d got inside his head at all to see why he was how he was and why he did it - we were told but it was all a bit 2 dimensional.
Also, probably could have been condensed to one larger book but overall i liked it - just not as much as Jimmy McSwain!
