I love a good enemies to lovers, but this did not do it for me. I thought that Rashida & Elliot had great chemistry together, but I felt that a lot of the romance happened off page. The issue of gentrification & the impact it has on people & neighborhoods played a large part in this story, and I felt that these parts dragged.

I thought this was a cute book. Perfect little Valentine’s Day read. It was a fast read and had nice plot to spice ratio.

I personally did not find this to be an easy read. I struggled with the writing style and the syntax. I felt there was too much detail and not enough romance involved. The story had some spicy scenes but had a lot of fade to black. I typically do not read books where the main source of conflict is communication or the lack there of. I found that the FMC Rashida was just avoiding anything and everything making their community issue worse. I didn't particularly relate to her character. I am mostly giving this book 3 stars because Elliot was a worthy love interest. He seemed the most dedicated and vulnerable party in this love story. I also thought some parts were comical. I started to lose interest in the book when I felt like if Rashida had focused on working with Elliot instead of actively against him they would've avoided a lot of the miscommunication. However, I guess that adds to the plot. I just couldn't relate to the story. Again, this is a pet peeve of mine and I think others will enjoy this book. It just wasn't for me personally.

Wasn't interested in any of the characters, and found the plot to be quite predictable and boring. Usually that would be fine, but as the characters lacked any appeal for me, I ended up skimming the majority of the story.

It also had too much talk about sex, I prefer a fade to black and mild innuendos.
