Shklar's writing is enlightening and profound, but was often difficult to read and understand. The material itself, however, is gold. Her exploration of misfortune and injustice are deep and enlightening.

Thought-provoking book that is well argued. This book was me dipping my toes into political theory, so I cannot speak to the merit of the arguments within the larger field. I found the argument compelling and leaves me wanting to read more from both Shklar and the wider field.
