I needed a good brain rot book I could binge and this HIT. I didn’t see the twists coming. I devoured it. it read so easily. it satisfied exactly what I needed it to be. will I ever think about it again? probably not. but it’s well written and a good time so 5 stars

It was an amazing experience reading this book. It was really really tense but I just feel the ending could have been better. Around 20-25 pages more could have been really effective in developing that effect on the reader

My favorite thing about this book was I didn't have to pay for it, because otherwise I would've regretted the money spent in addition to the time reading it. Not only are the characters shallow, underdeveloped and unlikable, the plot relies on harmful tropes that villainize victims of abuse and people who struggle with their mental health. There is also some weird racism thrown in as it relates to the groundkeeper. This is bad enough, but there are a frustrating amount of plot holes and completely nonsensical occurrences that make it clear the author was going for plot twists and shock value over writing anything actually entertaining or interesting to read. This was nothing thrilling about this book, but it certainly kept me guessing--guessing how it could possibly be so highly rated and why anyone would waste their time with the sequels.
