Critics will call this an "irreverent romp" or "scandalously funny." Very unique, I couldn't put it down, but I'm undecided on the ending. LOTS of content warnings!

This book (or, more fitting: the characters) are unhinged. And I loved it!
I’m usually not the biggest fan of contemporary books, but I’ve really enjoyed this one and the exploration within.
In part, the transcripts Greta makes are in the book, acting as narration and telling us what happened. This worked very well.
All in all- really enjoyed Big Swiss!

Weird & darkly humorous. Found myself entranced but also struggled to feel as though some of the emotional dynamics taking place between characters were earned.

The narrator is excellently written and funny as hell. While this book didn't knock my socks off, the premise, the cast of characters, Greta's way of going about her life -- it's all so charming, dark, and engaging -- this book has quickly become one of my favorites, and will probably be one of the "comfort books". One potential reason why I love it so much might be because I had it audiobook format, and the cast of readers did an amazing job.

This book was like a warm hug, a sweet, slow, loving, hilarious, and realistic memoir of trauma, repression, healing, and relationships. The tone is witty and irreverent, with some truly laugh-out-loud moments and delightfully clever prose. But it's not just a comedy, either - the cover and synopsis has a shock value, but the most surprising thing to me was an empathetic beating heart at the center of this book. I loved Big Swiss and I'm glad I read it.
