Michael Bennett #10

If you are a fan of James Patterson's fast-paced detective thrillers, this one is a win. It's no secret that I have not always been a fan of this particular main character and series from Mr. Patteron, but this one was good. I enjoyed the hunt and conclusion for this one. I'd recommend it.

As a side note, if you have never read a single Michael Bennett book, this one is still acceptable. I think you'll be able to enjoy the story even without knowing all the background and quirks to the detective.

The MC was one-dimensional and unlikeable. He repeatedly mentioned his own hypocrisy without doing anything to improve his character.  Any other flaws he seemed unaware of.  He is surrounded by people who encourage him to avoid any sort of accountability. I love a good mystery/thriller but the plot was also just not worth sitting through the entire book.

I would have rated this five stars but Patterson and/or his co-author do a lot of body-shaming in this book that I did not appreciate.

As I have said before James Patterson books are either a hit or a miss and this one was definitely a hit. I really enjoyed seeing the storyline develop and seeing more about Detective Bennett and his family. They are unique and I love how they are not perfect.
