This collection of batgirl stories was slightly less strong than the previous two volumes. don't get me wrong there were standout moments but some weaker issues did drag the volume down a smi=dge

a central theme in this volume was batgirl's relationship with her father. there are several one-shots dealing with the complicated relationship between David and Cass. I just loved all the moments where Cassandra reflects on the messiness of loving someone who hurt you and seeing how those feeling compact how she is a hero. the entire arc about Cass's birthday was incredibly sweet the way batman got her a present on the day she became batgirl mirrors David getting her a gift on her "actual" birthday melted me.

I also loved seeing Cass and Stephanie's relationship develop throughout. their bonding over their shitty dads and training together was so sweet. that friendship is definitely something I'd love to see more of in the future

I would say my least favourite arc in this series was Cass' team-up with corner hawk. Chuck Dixon has written Cass solidly before but she just seemed noticeably off in this arc. I especially hated that Cass made the wrong assumption that corner was an assassin when he clearly wasn't. Cass definitely isn't the type of person who would make that mistake and that interaction felt contrived to make a fight scene. overall the robin spoiler batgirl corner hawk team-up was fun in the end but the character writing didn't feel as solid as Kelley Puckett's excellent characterization

Nice bit of Cass's run as Batgirl to read, but the art style seemed too cartoony for me.

God miss Cass and Oracle. The art was a little inconsistent but I still loved it.
