I loved, LOVED this book. The action, the adventure, the romance. It was all so great. It's told from the pov's of John and Raven. John was such a great hero. He's got a haunted past that he can't quite remember and a fierce witch, Mira, on his hands. Mira's got a sad past of her own, but she refuses to take the hand life has dealt her.
Raven was so brave and I love her storyline. You could always tell she was more than she appeared, but finding out how powerful she really is, is amazing. She's being held captive with Sim and he was just perfect. The way he tried to protect Raven and was always there with a crooked smile to lighten the burden of their situation.
I loved how everyone seemed like strangers, but their lives were interwoven in so many ways. You get double the romance and both are swoon worthy. Both John and Raven had me smiling from ear to ear from the things they were saying.
The magical aspect was so amazing from magic battles, to a dragon, to realizing just how powerful certain people were and how powerful they could become.
As per the Logan Keys norm, the end was gut-wrenching. I saw the pages dwindling down and was like 'No, no, no, NOOOO'. The ending had me covering my mouth at both what happened and the truths that were revealed. It makes you look back on the story and wonder if certain people were really bad guys after all, if others were to blame, if people made the right choices.
I cannot wait for the next book.
