I was on a reading slump and this book helped me so much through it! It was incredible, especially on the characterization and messy relationships. The mystery kept me on my toes and it was very satisfying how everything tied up. For me, the book dragged a little bit, and some situations felt repetitive, but for the most part, it held my attention and I was fascinated by the characters and the complex interactions between them. I think I'd only have liked to have more mentions of Ian and their daughter but in general, the depiction of grief was very realistic. They Told Me I Was Everything was awfully entertaining and I will be jumping on the next one real soon.

I loved this book the first time I read it, but this was my first time experiencing the series in audio. At first I wasn't sure how I felt (this is a new to me narrator), but I immediately fell in love, especially the distinct differences between Theo's and Auggie's voices.

As for the book, I think anyone who knows me knows that I'm obsessed with these two. They're messy, they're both effed up in their own ways, and their journey is long and painful, but I love them so much. They continue to reign supreme as my favorite couple.

Thuggie Forever! Onto book two.

Wow, the writing pulled Me in from the first few chapters. I just wanted to know what happens to these characters, even if they seemed really damaged and a little annoying. I love this kind of writing where it feels a bit real. I think the whole thing with the mystery was a bit too dramatic. The dirty cop and the gang! It was annoying that they couldn’t tell the cops. But all in all, this was really good. I started this book because I wanted to get started on the hazard series. So am starting in chronological order, and I can’t wait to get to somerset and hazard!

feel like im going crazy reading the reviews for this book omg...ive never been so far in the minority for a book before??? like damn i Legitimately hated this one 😭😭😭 i wanted to like it bc i generally like this authors books a lot, but this one was SUCH a fucking miss for me. like...theo is insufferable; im sorry but it needs to be said. i feel sympathy for what happened to him and my issue isnt that hes gone through trauma, its that he such an incompetent adult and that he gets feelings for auggie. auggie, the newly 18 year old kid where theo is pushing 30 like dude. dude fucking back off??? literally pissed me tf off god anytime theo was in the book (the entire time since hes a main character) i wanted to fight him. god. this book only gets points bc somerset is there. like literally thats all i rated it for.

"He could feel Theo watching him from the porch all the way to the end of the street; when he turned onto the main road, he heard from a distance the thunk of the door shutting. Auggie walked another block until he was sure he was safe, his eyes burning hotter and hotter, and then he pulled out his phone and placed a call."

Well, here we are with another GA book and series. Theo and Auggie, another slow burn, another rollercoaster of emotions. This was a great first book in the series, I am excited and prepared for what I am sure is more angst, tension, and another rollercoaster of unwanted emotions. Having read the first batch of Hazard and Somerset series, I am familiar with GA and his superb writing. This man gets it. He engages his readers deeply with the plot and you are invested in the characters and their turmoil.

I liked both Auggie and Theo, I understood why Theo friend zoned Auggie but my heart hurts for my cute little influencer. Auggie was at times annoying but he was a sweetheart and well Theo had a lot of baggage to jump into a relationship with a guy 10 years younger than him.

I was here for all the angst and drama. The mystery was interesting but it was on the light side. I just want to wrap sweet Auggie in a big hug. Nobody puts baby in the corner. I want justice for my Auggie. GA damn your fab writing, I am hooked. I'll be reading the next book...now. Good day.

Took a break from the emotional dumpster fire that is Hazard and Somerset to start this series. On audio. Banger. 5*, no notes.

Auggie and Theo are simply perfection.

Though I have to say. I knew where that stupid thing was before it was even mentioned that anyone was looking for something. Maybe if I hadn’t been recently trying to pick apart a half dozen minor characters’ actions and motivations to see if they’re a bee-obsessed spree killer (the other series I’m reading) I wouldn’t have spotted it so quickly, though..
