reread: I died and revived again rereading this book. Drugs? Why do them when you can just read this series and get equally happy and addicted.

First up, my usual disclaimer. If you haven't read [b:Angelfall|11500217|Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1)|Susan Ee|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1319887835s/11500217.jpg|16435765], you may want to skip this review.

Second of all, if I was into fangirling, I would totally be all over Susan Ee's GR page right now papering it with baby unicorns and puppies. YES.

The last two weeks my GR feed has been full of Harry Potter and [b:Angelfall|11500217|Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1)|Susan Ee|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1319887835s/11500217.jpg|16435765]. People doing massive re-reads before World After me included. I almost began to worry that it would get so hyped up in my mind, I would ultimately be let down. After all, second books are typically never as good as the first. I was completely wrong. World After is every bit as good as [b:Angelfall|11500217|Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1)|Susan Ee|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1319887835s/11500217.jpg|16435765].

We pick up exactly where we left off in the first book. Penryn wakes up in the arms of the Resistance. Her sister, Paige, has been saved from the angels and is sporting her newly acquired razorblade teeth. Mom is still batshit crazy, and all is totally still wrong with the world. How fucktabulous is that?

Someone was missing for a big chunk of the book. At first I was bothered by this absence and flailing a bit ok, a lot. Then it just clicked, it was ok, it worked. It also gave us the introduction of a previously overlooked character named Pooky Bear. She has become my most favorite character, EVER. I want a sword named Pooky Bear.

There is the same dark theme throughout, which I enjoy immensely. We also get to find out more about what happened to poor Paige when she was missing. Mom is her usual psychotic self, and I adore her.

Raffe and Penryn. I can conclusively say that they fit right up there with the best done YA relationships. My hat is off to Susan Ee for getting it right.

Now, I must say this. I waited almost two years for this book to come out. Two YEARS. It was totally worth the wait. I would wait another two years for book 3, but please don't make me. I'm not good at waiting. I want need desperately book 3.

I really loved World After. It was ever creepier than the last book and I got a lot of answers I was looking for in Angelfall. Also, when Raffe finally showed up, Penryn and him shared some great moments. I'm looking forward to part 3, but unfortunately it doesn't have a release date yet.

I liked it! But it was so slow!! I wanted more action and cute and funny scenes with Raffe ( we have some but not enough)

I love the characters and the plot is so interesting but Word After didn't advanced at all. I was expecting more world development but in still in blank.

About Raffe. It took half book to get him on scene! He's the best part!

I really want to read the final book of this trilogy and hopefully it will be great.

I admittedly skimmed through the first half or so of the book, knowing from other reviews that Penryn and Raffe are not together through most of it (and that being my main motivation for reading). However, I still give it four stars because once the action hit at the end it was just as exciting as in the first book. Very excited for the conclusion of the trilogy.
