The Baudelaires go to the Hotel Denouement, the last safe space, there to spy on a gathering of volunteers and villains. For its obsession with denouements, precious little is explained in this book. Old characters reappear, and ongoing themes of moral complexity continue--and while it's interesting to revisit characters with new expectations, and while the siblings's character growth here is especially poignant, this merely reiterates previous books. Meanwhile, there's only one significant revelation and no denouement in sight. As impressed as I've been by the larger narrative in the second half of this series, it's come to feel stretched thin by the 13-book gimmick. I hope the final book is better!

We’re reaching the end of the series and as the reader, you really feel the stakes in this book.
I’m not surprised that these kids have decided to side with Count Olaf towards the end because nothing has gone their way.

I think Sunny's growth has added significantly to the story.
I don't know why anyone would organize a hotel the way they did in this book. There are too many rooms to make any logical sense. It's more organized than the library in Heimlich Hospital, but you know a lot of the rooms have to be unused.
This book shows exactly why the Baudelaires choose to evade the authorities throughout the entire series. It goes as expected.

“The last safe place is safe no more.”
This novel is one big question of morality. How much do the choices we make define us and how much are we a victim of the circumstances we find ourselves in?
By opening this book, you’ll see the Baudelaires make many questionable decisions, including delivering nautical weapons, locking important doors, removing blindfolds, helping a villainous man escape, and leaving a dear friend on the roof of a burning hotel.
The events are certainly unfortunate in this penultimate chapter of the Baudelaire’s misfortunes… how will it all end?
“You’re noble enough, Baudelaires. That’s all we can ask for in this world.”

I can't wait to see how the whole series is gonna end! So many questions and not enough answers. Like...
Spoiler
what does V.F.D. really stand for!? Will the Baudelaire ever see the Quagmire Triplets again? And what's going on with Olaf's parents and the Baudelaires'?slpierce111's review against another edition

Yes, I like books written for children and young adults. And don’t pick on me, because I’ll bet you like Harry Potter too. Anyway, I adore the way that Lemony Snicket explains big words and describes his characters. Obviously, a lot of weird things happen in this Series of Unfortunate Events, and obviously, that’s the point. Is it wrong that I’m turned on by Count Olaf? And no, I’m not actually talking about Jim Carrey as Count Olaf, though that turned me on too.

Pensé que ahora si tendría respuestas pero nop.
Me agrada que los hermanos estén dudando en si han hecho o están haciendo lo correcto.
