A fun and quick vampire romance, and I really enjoyed the audiobook narration!

One thing I love about Nikki St. Crowe is that her books are short and easy to consume.

Like in Twilight, one of the MCs can read minds, but instead of the vampire reading minds, it's the mortal FMC called Emery. This ability is always fascinating, but I wish it would have played a bigger role in the story.

The Lore was fun, and the insta-lust didn't bother me. I wished I would have felt their chemistry a little more, though.

I can't wait for more books in this series!

I really enjoyed both Rhys and Emery, the male and female leads. I liked the way they each developed as individuals, supported by each other, but by each person’s own work. I also enjoyed how their relationship developed and how they invested in each other. The secondary characters were also deeply engaging and there are several that I hope to see a story for soon.

This full length story is dual POV, well written, and a great introduction to a new world peopled with interesting characters and a novel premise. I received a complimentary copy from the author but this is my voluntary, honest review.
