I read this in several hours, and it was engaging enough, but ultimately this book just wasn't very good. The writing was weak, the characters were rather one-note, and the plot was all over the place. None of the teen characters really acted much like teenagers, and the attempts at humor fell flat most of the time. I'm not sure if Sherrilyn Kenyon is always like this, or if this is just because it is her first attempt at YA, but count me out for the rest of the series.

Very entertaining, but a bit hard to follow at first because Im not used to fantasy.

I wasn't sure I was going to dig the narrator or not, but he really made Nick pop. I loved the New Orleans setting, and Nick wise-aleck remarks reminded me of Jess Eisenberg (promise it's not a thing just that his narration style is strong.) It had a wide cast of characters and monsters, and was very funny. The naivety of the main character is to die for! This is a series I think I will enjoy and am going to go put a hold on the sequel now :)

I had heard so much buzz about this book. I don't think I read one bad review either. So, I was so excited when I got my hands on a copy.

Nick is an easy character to love and following him on his crazy adventure was exciting. There are a lot of characters though and sometimes it was hard to keep up. After awhile I started to remember most of them though.

The book is very fast paced and an easy read. It is really long though, almost too long in my opinion. Even so, the story was interesting and kept my attention. Although it was a fun read, it wasn't my favorite and some things did seem really odd to me. I'm not completely sold on the idea of zombies, but I'm sure this series will change my mind on that.

Overall this was a good book and I'm interested to see where this series goes.

once again Sherrilyn Kenyon amazes me with her writing. I so loved this book, it had my rolling n laughter so many times, cause of Nick's smart mouth, man that boy is hilarious... then with him and Ash lawd help me those two are a riot. I don't want Kody hurting Nick, and Caleb, well it's hard to say how he's gonna end up cause he's working for Nick's father. Poor Nick he just can never get a break. Well I can't wait to read more the Nick's adventure's. He's always been one of my fav DH characters.
