A great collection of poems. There is a big variety of structures and styles within this collection which makes it very interesting and great to share with children. The poems are also very imaginative and I think children would really enjoy them and find lots very funny. A nice collection to have in any primary classroom.

Kate Wakeling has written many poems but this is her first collection of poems for children. Her interest in Bali and music comes through quite richly in this collection but there are many other poems to enjoy too (I particularly liked the one about scabs!). It is also worth mentioning Braslina's illustrations which compliment the poems so well. A lovely touch to this collection are the interviews at the back and the activity suggestions in and around the poems. May sound odd but everything about the book is carefully considered for me. From the colour of the paper, font, presentation and size. It's just all right.
