I'm quite upset that I wasn't a fan of this. It certainly had it's moments but by the end I just wanted to rip my hair out. This read a bit like a Wattpad Y/A novel when it really shouldn't have. This had some really cool world-building but it all felt let down by immaturity. I genuinely scoffed during certain scenes.

One thing that bothered me the most was the misogyny: our main character was the classic TSTL FL and every other woman in this book was a dumb slut? Huh? Every woman Vampire was part of a coven but only as a member of the MALE leaders' Harem. The excuse was always that they were born in a time when they didn't have access to education and basically couldn't do shit...and yet out ML who was older than them was able to get multiple degrees during his long life? Puh-lease, I am not having that one bit. Not to mention how they were all upset that they were getting fat. Very upsetting, do better.

Either way, I thought this one had a lot of potential, it just didn't deliver. RIP.

I hate this book
Honestly I got 30% through and started a PowerPoint because the first 100 pages were so fucking wild that I needed to tell everyone and then the ending fucking sucked dude like what the hell it barely made sense
And then to have the phrase "God's blood" 50 times because I had to go and then count them because this book is so stupid I was tired of hearing it I highlighted that and every time they say good God or something like that it's dumb and I hate it I'm glad I finished it though but it was definitely a hate read

Campy and a bit rough, but it was fine as a free audiobook from the library.

This book started very promising. A vampire loosing his teeth because he’s trying to suck blood from a sex doll? All for scientific reasons of course, but still it made me laugh out loud and afterwards I couldn’t stop snickering. Hilarious! After that it went a little downhill and the story became a lot more serious. Okay being chased by the Russian mob is a very serious business, but I’d loved to get some more funny events.

Not that the rest of the story wasn’t intriguing, but I missed a bit of the humor that was so very present at the beginning of the book. As I came closer to the end of the book, it looked more and more as the usual paranormal romance with vampires. Such a shame after such a great beginning! Although the fact that vampires don’t seem to have a reflection in mirrors was quite fascinating. I’ve never understood how that could be possible. Even when something’s death it still has a reflection, hasn’t it?

Roman and Shanna are a nice couple. I just thought that there was a bit too much attention paid to the fact that Roman was still struggling with his past. Especially with his Catholic background. I know people from the Middle Ages were very religious, but to think that it’s his fault, even after all those YEARS is a bit too much. He didn’t decide to become a “monster”! That was a bit too much drama for my taste.

Shanna is very spicy, I like that in a heroin. She took the bull by the horns and didn’t wait for her knight in shining armor to rescue her. Especially liked that last part ^^ Although I was very surprised she had so much doubts about her and Roman becoming a couple. Finally someone who thinks about all the consequences of dating a vampire instead of just falling head over heels in love. I didn’t agree with the decision she made at the end, but she still has time to change her mind.

Overall rating 3 stars. As I mentioned the beginning was superb, but then it went down with some notches. Nonetheless a nice story to read, although a bit too dramatic at times for my taste.

It was REALLY cute, quirky, and just a fun read. I laughed many times. I felt like it was a bit looong in some parts, but you could feel the pain that Roman, the main vamp, was feeling at some points. A slightly less sexed up version and a less violent than Sookie books.
