I went back and forth throughout reading this story trying to decide if I actually liked it or not.bHere's the thing I worry about, a kid connecting with the naughty character who gets in trouble, yet her family still loves her anyway...but Mabel does all of these naughty things on purpose. Is that really a good message to send to kids? I'm not sure. It seemed to celebrate too much being naught and causing trouble just because you want to. The humor in his felt either aimed at adults, or trying too hard to be for kids, so it wasn't a hit for me.

Mabel has personality plus! Funny for adults but I don't know that kids would understand all the jokes. Still, they'd find her antics hilariously naughty.

This is adorable. I liked it so much more than I thought. Mabel is very accurate for a dog. It made me think of my dog, albeit my dog is 80 pounds. Really cute story.

The book was cute with nice pictures, but the content and some of the words were a little bit above the reading level for a picture book

Silly and entertaining. You can practically hear Nathan Lane narrate.
