So sad that the author's friends had to read her words for her.

It took me a long time to finish this, partly because I read it for a Sunday School study, and partly because I wasn’t ready to put it down. I love RHE, and her loss was gutting. I have so severely missed her voice & grace & wisdom these last several years, and to have her last written words in my hands just felt so precious.
This book spawned some really quality discussion in my class, parts of it blew my mind, making me think of things in ways I never had before, it humbled me in the face of my lack of love for my own enemies, and continually made me cry. (I mean really, if you read that last part about her & Dan building a new home & watching her kids play in the front yard and you DIDN’T cry, do you have a heart??)
Strong recommend, whether you know & love Rachel’s previous work or not. It’s a beautiful, thoughtful picture of a beautiful faith.

This book is well written and definitely gets you thinking and reflecting. The audiobook being read by Rachel's closest friends and family is touching.

Listening to the audio of this is a whole experience. I am grateful that this book was able to be completed for Rachel. The spirit of her words really comes through. The afterword by Nadia Bolz-Weber absolutely gutted me, though. Rachel’s work was instrumental in giving me the courage to walk away from Evangelicalism and open myself to a different way of existing within those doubts and longings. I just really miss her voice and often wonder what she would have to say about the state of the world today.
