I thought the story was very exciting and when i put down the book i wanted to immediately take it up again. it was my first book by the author and i liked the way the story is told from several points of view. three of them the main ones and every now and again there more pov‘s from characters we already knew. The throwbacks made it all even deeper. The first big blow of the story comes pretty early on and reading about the one main character trying to live with it is a big part of their story line. some things in the story were predictable and some weren‘t. the way the whole story is built makes it so interesting to read it.
what i liked the most was that all of the people were just so very relatable. even the people that aren‘t similar to me as a person, one reads what Liane Moriarty writes about their thoughts, feelings, impressions, etc etc and one can imagine it so well. it was almost like I knew the people in real life.

one thing I always stumbled over was what i marked as fatphobia in the TW‘s. one character used to be fat and became slim and beautiful and the whole thing set one of the characters‘ storyline into motion. The way the ex-obesity of that one character was sometimes talked about was pretty harsh. the whole thing is more complex, though, and it‘s difficult to explain.

I loved this book. I flew through it due to the suspense, the drama, the build up. truly a page turner. short, digestible chapters that flip between multiple characters / situations. Easy to read but a lot to take away as well. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys multiple POVs, mystery and drama.

An intricate story about “how far would you go for the ones you love”; would you lie? kill? hide/tell the truth? And the consequences of those decisions, in addition to what-if scenarios.
I caught myself imagining what I would do if I was in the character’s places.
This was my first Liane Moriarty book and won’t be my last!!

I liked the premise of never knowing how one moment can change the direction of your entire life. I loved how the author choose to tell the tale through three different women. If anything I took away that men suck hahaha (Jean-Paul, Will, etc). I’m not quite sure what the relevance of Tess’s story brought to the rest of the book but … I also don’t know how Tess stayed with her husband ? I would have found someone else lol. But I guess I don’t have a child so… Also Felicity is a dick. Glad she went off to go live her life though. Next, Cecelia should have never read that letter but I would have too if I was her. I feel bad that she had to go through that ideal. I’m glad she told Rachel about it in the end. Lastly, Rachel could have been a better mom to Rob and nicer to Lauren. They are sweet people.

p.s. I don’t think I’ll read another book from this author.
