Focus-wise and writing-wise, much improvement over the last volume, but I really struggled to follow the plot. What is going on, exactly?

Maria really deserved better, now I'm certain about my feelings about Saya; I hate her.
Also I can't believe she's dating Willie... where did that come from?
I like Petra, she's nice in the TV show too.
I hope we'll have more on Shabnam in the next issues, and that the rats survive.

This is, and I'm not putting it lightly, glorious. Seriously it is amazing. Vol 3 centers around betrayal, loneliness, unrequited crushes and solitude while the stakes are getting higher and higher. I'm certain this series has me on a chokehold and I need Vol 4, like yesterday.

I had a better experience with Volume 3 than with the previous Volume 2. Marcus was cheating on his girl-friend in the last volume and he was throwing himself a pity party over being the one who effed up. He was a selfish d*ck with first world problems. In Volume 3, his problems were less superficial. Marcus really had to face the consequences of his actions as well as deal with more near death experiences. Maria is ruthless and scares the sh*t out of me. I find it interesting that the creators made the women stronger than the men. Yeah, sometimes the female characters are victims male stupidity (or even abuse) but at least the girls don't take their sh*t.

"Fire will always be that one thing. That one memory. Inescapable. A wound that will never close. The wound gives me power. It's the wound that brought this on---it was my need to state the pain. To take it's power away."

"Nothing is as wretched as a guilty mind. However, guilt is immensely important. It lets us know that something needs to change."

"During change life is uncomfortable. But only to the degree that you hold onto the past. Like a phantom limb that still itches after it's been severed."

Content Warning: violence, nudity, strong language, murder, blood, drug abuse, depression, mental illness, everything offensive possible.

While weaker than the second volume, this volume is interesting and sets up vol 4 nicely.
