Through a completely unpredictable turn of events, I think this book being written (or at least written about) pre-2020 does it quite a disservice. In The Normal Timesâ„¢ I would've found this a deeply touching and inspiring memoir. I did find passages very touching as is, but each of those moments of sentimentality was marred by "well... I'm sure this pales in comparison to what they've braved together now." Guess I'm already crossing my fingers for a The Next Ten Years lol

Probably an unpopular take, but I actually wish it was a little longer. More of a year-by-year memoir than a collection of essays. I wanted more opportunities to hold the chapters up side by side and catch them out in discrepancies.

However, as predicted, their writing voices and narration were engaging, entertaining, enlightening, and sentimental. The humor landed very well, and I loved hearing their personalities in contrast. The insight into backstage wtnv didn't hurt at all. (Having been a fan for nearly all those ten years added a layer of meaning for me, I think.)

Overall, exactly what it says on the tin, and a lovely read.

Love these two's love. They write about the parts in relationships and falling in love people often feel but never vocalize. It's frequently funny, even when it's sad
