I think I just read this at the wrong time. It followed a lighter read. By contrast this was a bit heavy and I found myself drifting a bit and unable to pay attention. I got the jist of the crime though I didn't connect with Galena and Easter as much as I did with Jackman and Evans. Don't think I'll be following this series.

Not my usual genre. I enjoyed reading a book set close(ish) to where I live.

Got told about this series by a friend and got it on there recommendation. Glad i did as this sounds like it is going to be an amazing series. Looking forward to reading the rest of it.

I don't like all detective novels. I love Laura Lippmann's Tess Monaghan and Peter Robinson's Inspector Banks and I read them as soon as they come out. I like great characters that are a bit dark but realistic. I do not like gore or misogynist violence.

With all that said, I loved this story. The plot was unique and the main characters were excellent.

3.4/5 stars. The writing has potential, so I will try another in the series, and see how it goes.

My first time reading a crime book and I ate this up. Whilst this instalment wasn’t necessarily the most plot twist filled I loved the characters and found this such an easy read. I can’t wait to read more about these characters and see where the series goes

I enjoyed Crime on the Fens but didn't love it. It definitely kept me interested (and I had a weird deja vu with the "mask wars" for some reason although I'm absolutely sure I've never read this before!) but at the same time there is something that would keep me from recommending to everyone I know. I guess the plot is a little predictable and some of the character development maybe happened a little too fast for me to really believe it. Overall it was enjoyable but not the best detective thriller I've read. 3.5/5
