I did enjoy this book a lot as I definitely love a crime mystery although I didn’t like how slow it was. It felt like it took forever to get to the point and introduce the actual mystery of the book. I also found it kind of predictable? Definitely called it as soon as the mystery was revealed. Was also a little confronting at times but not the absolute worst thing. I also felt like they could have wrapped it up quicker but I suppose it gives room for more books. Would be interested to read the next ones although I’m not SUPER keen to get started on it straight away.

Unpopular opinion, But I think I had built this book up too much. It took me over halfway to really get into it. Mikael and Lisbath is an interesting dynamic. They were able to crack a cold case that ended up being a wild conclusion.

Great book to read. Vivid imagery. Couldn’t put it down.

This was a great book. I couldn’t put it down once I started to read it. It’s very intricate and detailed, weaving in fascinating stories from each character.

Warning if you don't like language or vulgarity in books this isn't for you. If you don't mind that and love a good mystery with twists and turns it is for you. It did start a little slower than I would have liked but the story did progress through the book. I liked that parts were "guessable" and yet still plenty of surprises as well.

Honestly, I think my opinion is a bit of an outlier. I think I might just not particularly enjoy crime, and I
- think that while the story and mystery are well put together, the writing style itself isn't that good. I don't need that many details on what time it is, what people are wearing, or what they're eating
- was annoyed at
Salander and Blomkvist being a thing

- guessed
Harriet was still alive

- thought some things aged really badly - the judgement of Salander's style and the describing her as anorexic in particular
-
the hacking thing?
very Deus ex Machina
- I was really bored for the last two or three chapters - when the main mystery is over
- how can this book be so vaguely sexist (product of its time and written by a man) and also depict sexual violence in all the horror it deserves?
Despite all this I did enjoy the book, I'm glad I read it and I was really curious to see the developments. I was just a little underwhelmed by it in the end

it took almost 100 pages to get to the main point and overall this book did not need to be almost 600 pages. a lot of stuff was drawn out and did not incorporate enough mystery into it and the reveal was not as big as i thought it would be
