A perfectionistic law student meets a straight male porn star at a conference in Vegas . . . yep that's the story but very entertaining how it evolves!

I liked this book. It kept me engaged and hooked. I resonated a lot with the main character, Grace, and the struggles she went through and her character development. I love the writing - Mia Sheridan who also wrote Archer’s Voice and Travis. Even the slow parts of the book keep you locked in on the story.

I guess this is Mia Sheridan’s second book and to say her writing has improved over the years is an understatement. Could not get through this. It looks like the pacing is going to be VERY lopsided (for second chance romance we want the second chance to be at least on par with the first chance - not the last 15% right?).

The lawyer from NOT Las Vegas, NV in me could not handle her portrayal of the most uptight 1L at a conference in Vegas. Her plan is to graduate from law school in 2 years. First of all - HOW?!?! You’d be dead, girl. Second of all - WHY? It was also a choice (see: not a choice I liked) to make Stinger really unhappy and ashamed of the fact that he works in P0rn. Especially considering the niche he’s in is targeted to woman. I think Rosie Danan handled the uptight inexperienced princess/male pornstar with a heart of gold MUCH BETTER and with SO MUCH MORE HEAT in The Roommate. I’d recommend you read that book instead.

I’m actually very sad that I didn’t enjoy this book more. The beginning was cute - I do always like the way Mia Sheridan writes banter and her relationships are sweet. However, I am not a fan of the negative portrayal of sex work or sex workers.

I understand that SW is a part of Carson’s trauma, however, I feel that it could have been handled more delicately.

It also seemed like the last ¾ of the story was an after-thought. It felt disjointed in the telling and the way the characters wound up. It felt rushed with how easily Grace ended her engagement, and quickly accepted Carson’s world even though hers was so opposite in the side of the law and her career.

I think it could be a great story if more time were spent on the actual story and less on the meet-cute. Especially since sex-trafficking and human-trafficking is such a horrendous phenomenon, especially here in the US. I feel the story almost deserved more than it got.

This started promising but then fizzled out about 2/3 thru. Plus a lot of typos.

"More often, it means being saved from yourself, and made to finally believe that letting someone love you, isn't just a big lie that you're unwilling to tell."

This book will latch onto your soul. I want to buy a physical copy, just to hug it. Carson Stinger is an angel who deserves all the good things in the world, and I can't stop crying.

5 stars, 10 stars, a ZILLION stars isn't enough. I didn't think I could love a Mia Sheridan book more than Archer's Voice - but wow was I wrong. I didn't want it to ever end, and if we could please get like, eight extended epilogues that would be fantastic, thanks.
