I don't even remember how I first learned of this book, but I do know it's not in print in English anymore. It's a brilliant contemporary analysis of the totalitarian movements in interwar Europe, written in the form of a course of instruction for a would-be American dictator with the unintentionally prophetic name of "Mr. Double You." Not necessarily of much value today but a useful reminder that totalitarian politics was mass politics — mass politics does not automatically mean democratic politics.
