I did not finish this book although I don't think it's a bad book. I think for a beginner litrpg reader or a young reader this is a good book. For me though it lacked characters that I cared about. I wanted to like it because of the use of veterans but the whole premise of getting into the game is just lazy. And then the book lacked real meat.

Stopped it around 80% of the book. Not badly written but i simply could not connect with the characters. If you read over 100 pages and still don't care if one of the main characters dies or not - it is simply not your book.

A phenomenal adventure into a new world. Full of fantastical creatures and powerful foes.

2 stars because it is an okay book, just not for me personally.

Reasons why I didn't like this as much as others in the genre (I actually love the genre):
(1) No reason to care. There seems to be little depth to the story. It suffers the flaw of telling instead of showing. They tell us there is this big problem, but we don't feel any connection or empathy for the characters. Frankly, there was nothing tying me to the characters. Usually I would be able to tell you why a character was interesting, but here everyone is so bland.
(2) All the characters are the same. The MC has a party of 5(?) characters that are just names on a page. They have no life when they are introduced and are easily forgotten, so much so that I can't count them 15 mins after putting down the book.
(3) There is a lot of filler. Filler to me is when there is something that doesn't tell us useful/interesting stuff about stuff, advance the story, or bring us closer to characters. In this case, everyone is so forgettable and irrelevant that the whole story is filler almost. The blacksmith? Don't care, so all that detail is filler. Exposition on the magic system? The System is a set of screens and stats that I'm forced to look at 10 times in the chapter it's introduced, and idc about the characters anyway. That's filler too. You get the idea.

This is a good book for people who are looking for a dry "videogame playthrough translated to a novel," but that's not the type of book for me.
