Easy read, no complicated words or sentence structures. Clever MC who had learned to accommodate around his 'disability' -lack of a soul which prevents him from using madras. Though he can use madra, he simply lacks the amount most others have. Until he forges his own path. Also has historical Asian themes.
Moderate: Death, Blood, and Murder
Minor: Death of parent and Injury/Injury detail

A promising start to a series. I think the only real comparison I can make is that it feels like playing a Zelda game. This is one of the draws behind litRPG and I've read a few at this point so I'm not surprised by enjoying it thoroughly.
What I am surprised about is the cheeky nature of trying to cheat the system. Our main character, Lindon, starts out disadvantaged. He is shunned and bullied and weak. He basically sees a glimpse of a possible future of destruction and is determined to avert it, at the cost leaving everything he knows behind. The path he chooses is substantially more difficult than anything he would have encountered otherwise but he's the kind of guy that hates it when stronger people abuse weaker people so even if he doesn't have a chance of winning he's still going to do the right thing. Also, if he can cheat and even the odds of him winning, he will. After all, it's for the greater good.
Will definitely be continuing with the next book.
