A Little Luck was one of my picks to read while in Argentina based on the newsletter Martha's Monthly, which is my new go-to for good literature in translation recommendations. A book about trauma without being vividly traumatic itself - more quiet and contemplative. I find myself reading a lot of contemporary literature in translation that's very spare and minimalist, but really lovely. Maybe a trend, a side effect of translation, maybe American literature is more maximalist? Regardless, this was a brief and wonderful read and I'm looking forward to reading Elena Knows by the same author soon.
