After reading One Exquisite Touch, I couldn’t wait to read more about Daniel, in One Week Husband. Daniel and Scarlet are business partners who have good chemistry, fun banter and you can cut the sexual tension with a knife. This book wasn’t all just fun and games as we learn Daniel’s backstory and it made me want to reach in and give him a big hug. That part in the book was truly heartbreaking and I was in shock. I had to listen to that part twice to make sure I heard correctly. It was also nice to catch up with Cole as well from One Exquisite Touch. Even though they are fictional characters I get attached and like to see that they are doing well.

Audiobook Review:
So I ended up listening to the audiobook since it is a full cast audiobook and I LOVE those the best. The narrators did such a great job as always bringing the characters to life in this story. Shane East can narrator a washer machine manual and make it sounds sophisticated and dirty all at the same time and I love it! This was my first time listening to Vanessa Edwin and I will definitely be adding her to my list of narrators to watch out for as well. I have very picky ears and these two narrators work so well together and everything just flowed. It was music to my ears

I didn't really like much of anything in this books, tbh. The chemistry was lukewarm at best and the emotional moments didn't really pack a punch. I don't really like how she writes her female characters. Sure their smart, sexy, witty and all that but not much else. I especially don't like how she writes her male characters. Its like she's writing a love letter to them from their perspective (if that even makes sense). The drama/conflict/emotional moments were boring at the best of times. I skipped so much of the book for how generic it was. I was really disappointed because I was expecting so much more.

Every time a Lauren Blakely novel appears on my Kindle, it's all I can do to live life and not have my nose perpetually stuck in the story until I am done. Her writing draws me in so quickly! After giving us a hint of the attraction between colleagues Daniel and Scarlett in One Exquisite Touch (note that it's not necessary to read that book before My One Week Husband), I was so excited to see how the story would play out. Fake relationships are always so fun, and paired with a travel romance? Yes, please! Their friendship so easily lent itself to more, and it was fun to see them travel through France and give in to their attraction, city by city. It felt so genuine as we saw Daniel become more comfortable with Scarlett and share the details of that past the he had kept bottled up. I adored them together- their chemistry was scorching and so believable.

When I think of Lauren Blakley, I think of funny, steamy, hot guys trading quips and passion with smart, sassy females who usually knock hot guys on their bohunkus (bohunki? bohunkuses?). My One Week Husband is not that. And I was pleasantly surprised and delighted by this tale that takes place in the south of France. The descriptions are fantastic. The attraction between Daniel and Scarlett has simmered for years. Now on a one-week journey, they get to test their attraction, fantasies, and friendship in new ways.

The conversations between the two are flirty, and you can hear the respect and friendship they have for one another. As they go on their adventure, their passion for the other builds and builds...quite the kinda not slow but not insta-combust burn. Everything about their story fits beautifully. The twist near the end is sublime, and I'd love to just hang out and watch them be love. They both are so smart, and their working relationship blended to perfection. One-Week Husband is one of those books outside the norm and hits that spot of just a beautiful love story that leaves you sighing in happiness.

My One Week Husband is Lauren Blakely's newest friends to lovers romance and it was so fantastic! She tells this story with her words as Scarlett and Daniel go on a journey through France as they discover each other and the beauty around them. Business partners can be lovers. Friends can be lovers. Sometimes you find the one in the person you were always hoping would be yours. I fell in love with Scarlett and Daniel, the places they visited, the people they met and the things they shared. Daniel has a painful past that he never shares with anyone. When he finds himself on a trip with his business partner, Scarlett, while they pretend to be married for one week, he realizes he wants to open up to her. Scarlett never imagined what happened to Daniel. Now that she knows his past, she understands him more. After spending time with him traveling around, being together in and out of bed, she knows she wants more. Can a one week fake relationship turn into the real thing? I love Daniel and Scarlett! They have so much heart and soul and they just get each other. It was beautiful to watch them fall for each other. They left me wanting to visit Monet's kitchen, listen to the violin and fall in love.

This brilliant, witty, incredibly sexy woman smells exactly like desire, and as I linger there against her throat, my head goes hazy and my body heats. I record every moment of her reaction as I move even closer.

He’s the kind of man designers make clothes for. Clothes that should be so lucky to snuggle up against his skin.

Ahhh I do love a good friends to lovers. Though they are business partner’s yes they are friends too. I enjoyed the banter and the friendship vibes throughout the book not just with the main characters but with the secondary ones as well.
It makes you feel like you could be a part of their group.
The women are fantastic and I love how they encourage each other, it’s sweet and fun.
The full cast really gives each of them their own voices and that is awesome.
Now on to Daniel and Scarlett they have the spark that makes for a good story. I loved the costumes and the heat these two generate. The way he finally opens up and how easy it is for him to talk to Scarlett well it made me love her that much more. She was so patient and he was so good about her past hurts it was a great story to get lost in.
LOVED the narration every single one of the narrators were fantastic.
The bonus snippet at the end was great I want more.

I was looking forward to Daniel’s story ever since we met him in One Exquisite Touch and Lauren Blakely did not disappoint. Daniel and Scarlett’s are business partners and have to pretend to be a couple while on a business trip. I love how they start off with a strong physical attraction to each other and as the story progresses it develops into an emotional relationship. Their chemistry is strong and I love the fun banter between them. This story is incredibly hot, emotional and gives you all the feels.

This book was narrated by a full cast, lead by Shane East and Vanessa Edwin and sounded amazing together. There was also great supporting narration by Joe Arden, Erin Mallon, Victoria Mei, Siiri Scott and James Joseph. The bloopers at the end of the audio book were so much fun.

Thank you to Lauren Blakely and the team at Candi Kane PR for the advance reader copy of My One Week Husband, releasing on February 19th.

I am a member of Lauren’s review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true.

Lauren is bringing us two of my fave tropes together! A fake marriage combined with a week-long trip to Europe. Get strapped in for this wild ride. Because we all know when two people are so determined not to fall in love, it is rather inevitable that they do. This may in fact be one of Lauren Blakely’s best love stories yet!
