Easy 4.5 ⭐️ read for me! Equal parts informative and data driven (which is a priority for me when I read parenting material because there’s enough baseless and unsafe parenting advice floating around lol) + entertaining and funny from personal anecdotes by the author. I found it both relatable and reassuring! Would highly recommend to all new parents. It was just based on the American healthcare system so being a Canadian new mom, some parts were difficult for me to come to gripes with (yikes on the American maternity leave!!!) but other than that, REALLY great read!

What a wonderful view into pregnancy and motherhood. I was a huge fan of Schrock's ability to introduce all the perspectives and ideas on childbirth, motherhood, and raising children without forcing one thought more than another. She simply presented what all the world has to offer and provided scientific data to show why you would choose one over the other.
Super great book. It's sobering and also calming.

Provided a solid overview but glossed over some really big topics. Nice how the topics were sorted out and easy to skip to where I was at in my pregnancy when I received this as a gift, though!

A broad overview of the entire conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.
