Overall, I thought this book was an enjoyable, fun read. It was definitely dark, but not the darkest book I have read.

I thought Juniper was a lot more of a relatable character than Raelynn was in Book 1. Juniper came from a very dysfunctional and developed unhealthy coping mechanisms over the years, such as keeping everyone at a distance and being in a state of constant survival-mode.

However, as the story progressed, she learned to open up to someone and find a safe space, and she has to learn to not feel guilty about being happy.

This is a very great book showing that dark romance, while it has dark themes, is also about consent and the feelings of your partner.

If you're look for something that will ease you into the erotica and dark romance/paranormal romance genre, I think this is the perfect book to start. Definitely check your trigger warnings, but if you are still unsure what those triggers are, I think this a good book to start with.
