The Lifeguards takes us to the Austin area of Barton Springs, where one night changes the lives of three families whose mothers have been bound together since their first pregnancies.

Touching upon family dynamics, challenging choices - how far will a parent go to protect their own?

This was a fast read for me, more timely with the hot summer. Highly recommend watching over YouTube the author chat on Peloton Moms Book Club for additional insight, too!

Thank you to Random House Publishing - Ballantine and to Netgalley for ARC.

I love the premise of three close friends raising their sons together, to the extent that they find themselves tangled in a mysterious death without knowing which son might be responsible, and turning on each other in slight ways. But the ending completely fell apart. It’s like the author wrote to a certain point, couldn’t figure out how to solve it, and just jumped ahead with no resolution.

I did enjoy it, but the ending was immensely disappointing. There’s too many plot holes and the ending felt rushed. It could have been so much better.

Relevant, engaging, and well-pieced together so that the mystery is revealed to the reader at a regular pace. Character development is fascinating, focused on the three middle-aged moms and their strategies of survival.

Pretty strong beginning the ending sucked though. Unresolved, didn’t make ANY sense. I was thoroughly disappointed. SMH.
