I read this book only because I wanted to read something else from Zevin. It did not disappoint, I finished it in a day. I love how this author writes and will be reading more from her.

Optimistic, charming, lovely. I CRIED when this was over. The characters and emotions feel so true. It’s a story that explores loss but remains utterly charming and irresistibly delightful throughout. I felt like I knew each characters and loved them all thoroughly. 5 stars. One of the most immersive novels I’ve read in a long time.

Didn’t expect to be moved to tears but this book was so vivid in its depictions of the characters, and I found myself so attached to their story. A beautiful book about books! It’s truly a lovely feeling to experience in real time exactly what the book is trying to express - about reading being a way of building communities, and how we read to feel not alone. The writing is punchy, succinct, and perfectly witty. Must say I am apprehensive as to the
Spoileradoption of a child being used as a plot device and as a way for A.J. to grow up but I do think it was handled very nicely
Definitely will be thinking about this book for a long time.

I'd give 10 stars if I could!!!! This is a short read- less than 300 pages, but it's heartfelt and heart-warming mixed in with some sad moments. This is a book about a bookstore and it's owner A.J.Fikry. A quote I loved from this book is, "Sometimes books don't find us until the right time." This rings so true!!! I definitely recommend this book!!!
