Definitely what I was expecting loved the book and the creative writing the description were a bit short but the book was perfect. It was a fast read so you really get into in and once there you are hooked. What got me to read the book was mostly thanks to the synopsis, it was one of those storylines that no one can pass on. Especially because you will love the characters and the plot.
But there was something about Katie I didn't like I don't know what it was I'm guessing its got to do with her breaking up with Connor, cause honestly breakups suck.
As soon as he met Laren I knew that something was going to happen, I just love books that have to do with forbidden love and creatures especially if there is some mystery to it to. I did not find the book cheesy or way to sweet, as I sometimes find that authors over do it. It's rough around the edges but has enough emotion to soften it up a bit.
I loved the book it was fantastic and fun to read. And the cover is amazing

First off I just love the beautiful cover. Gorgeous people and gorgeous eyes. I couldn't give it 5 stars only because I didn't like how the story started. I thought the first encounter between Connor and Laren was not believable.

After getting over the first encounter the book starts getting really really good. After having fate help out Connor and Laren the I just couldn't put the book down. It was fast paced with new encounters and some possible enemies. I just loved how Conner and Laren start to grow and develop.

All the characters you start to meet are great but I think Laren's family was portrait to harshly. It's a family and family is always a little complicated. The relationships between Laren and Connor, Connor and Katie are very different and I was so happy to read it. Connor to me be seemed like such a great guy and stays all through out the story even after having his life turn upside down. I love that in main characters.

I think Jonathan Yanez did a great job on this amazing first book. I would definitely recommend this book and read anything Jonathan Yanez comes out with.

- A Mom's Review - An adventurous paranormal tale. Clean content and age appropriate for teenagers. There is plenty of competition, drama, intrigue, and suspense to keep the pages turning. Make sure you have book two at the ready, you'll not want to be left hanging.

3.5 stars!
This was a nice and easy read, if not a bit predictable. I'm still trying to figure out what sort of creatures Elites are as their species is only eluded to. The MC is Connor and there is sort of a triangle between the human girl Katie and Elite Laren. This book was a free read from whispersync so definitely no complaints;)
