3.5 stars. The main character had a little anti porn rant that was weird and uncharacteristic. "Porn leads to violence! Ted bundy used porn!" It's straight out of some asinine evangelical tract. (no offense to evangelicals but your positions on porn are not backed up by any data.) Other than that, this was an enjoyable installment in the John Cleaver series. It was nice to watch John grow in this book and realize
Spoilerhe is not as sociopathic as he initially thought
.

WOW! There has never been any book i've ever read that i didn't see the twists coming a mile away. But this series had me on my firsts. All three of them were just brilliant. Though the 1st and this one in my opinion are more captivating then the second.

I loved this book. WOW! I did not see ANY of the twists coming, and they were all brilliant and made the story just sing. I loved it. And i loved the end. I don't know how this series isn't more popular than it is, it BRILLIANT!

I'm gob-smacked and in awe.

So sad the main character lost everyone he loved. Hoping he can find some happiness.

Even though this is a story about a boy searching for the third serial killer to come to his town, I felt like this was more about what the boy learned about himself. John finds himself perplexed by the question, "Why do people leave?" and can't find an answer to help him cope with the feelings that their absences awakes in him. Because John does not feel emotion like other people he struggles to define and explain what he does feel. He doesn't want to become a sociopathic killer and yet fighting demons that come to his town leaves him with little choice. If John can find the serial killer, can he get rid of them without becoming one himself?

If I could give this book 10 Stars I would! I am so glad I found this series. Each book just gets better, I couldn’t put this down I could t read it fast enough. I can’t wait for the next book but I don’t want the series to end.
