Well written, and brings Anne Boleyn to life.  The end is very hard to read.

I admit that I came into this story not liking Anne Boleyn because of the first book in this series, Katherine of Aragon. Anne is exactly as I imagined her to be ... cunning and manipulative, self-centered and vain, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve her goals. She is intelligent and could have done much good but choice to focus on petty insults and injustices or those she perceived as such. A story is well written when it makes you feel strong emotions for the character and I certainly did.

I was so excited for this - Anne is one of my historical favorites. Stilted writing and clear bias against the subject turned me off almost immediately. I appreciate what Weir is doing with writing about each wife, but looking back at my ratings of other books I’ve read by her gives me the sense that I can stop trying her books. I just don’t like them.

Vivid characters and a good plot even knowing how it would end. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

3.75⭐️ la prima metà del libro è veramente stupenda, la parte centrale è un po’ noiosa tbh, ma la parte finale è di nuovo stra bella
